Community Events That Kawartha Home Hardware Group of Stores Is Involved In

Community events help strengthen personal bonds, facilitate local awareness, and catalyze community involvement or change. They help people feel like they are part of something bigger and are a great way to let new community members feel welcome. Additionally, community events promote business opportunities and contribute to the community’s economic well-being. Community involvement is one of our core values at Kawartha Home Hardware Group of Stores. Thus, we do our best to sponsor and support community events in our localities.

Community Events Sponsored by Kawartha Home Hardware Group of Stores

These events bring everyone together and contribute positively to the physical and mental health of people in the community. Besides community events being an excellent way for people to get to know each other better, these events also create a solid identity for the city or other locations. Community involvement is something we prioritize in all our stores. Hence, we are involved in several community events that promote women’s wellness, environmental health, poverty eradication, health, and more. Here are some of the organizations we work with and programs we are involved in:

Women’s Resources

Women’s Resources of Kawartha Lakes, an organization created and run by local women, regularly organizes programs for women and children. They work towards making women feel empowered and confident. We take pride in being involved with these incredible women who are working towards giving women a safe place to live. The Women’s Resources offers dedicated support to women seeking help and are geared toward building a better community.

Kawartha Lakes Food Source

The Kawartha Lakes Food Source is a non-profit organization that works towards providing food to member organizations on a monthly, fair-share basis. The organization collects food from other reclamation sources, stores it, sorts it, and then makes it available to the members each month. The prime mission of this organization is to reduce hunger in the Kawartha Lakes.

United Way

United Way focuses on bringing in public health service providers, government organizations, and other local health providers to determine how they can work together to help people in need. It’s been our pleasure to work with them to lead the change and help pave the way for a better community where everyone who needs help has access to it.

The organization’s main goal is to tackle poverty and build a stronger community. United Way also holds programs to raise awareness about mental health issues and help seniors and other individuals struggling with these issues. Their Covid programs brought much-needed relief to people in Kawartha Lakes, and the United Way even administered two pandemic response funds for the Federal Government.
